The Probe system detects and reports the status of devices such as tv,s dvd players , vcr,s etc when requested . The Probe system consists of 3 hardware items..

1: The Probe Zone Hub...This is the main controller which responds to Probe status requests from intelligent HA controllers devices such as Homevision or xPLHAL . The status of the requested Probe can be relayed via an I/O connection OR via a serial connection. There is led indication on the front of the Probe Zone Hub to show the status of the last requested Probe , and rj45 sockets at the rear to connect Probe Zone Monitors to...(max of 8 Zone Probe Monitors)

2: Probe Zone Monitor...This little box is located in each zone and connects to the Probe Zone Hub via cat5 cable. Up to 6 Probes can be connected to this device by way of 3.5mm stereo plugs. The Probe Zone Monitor provides 5v @ 100ma for the connected probes and gets its 12v supply from the Probe Zone Hub via the connected cat5 cable. There are 6 bi coloured leds located on the front of the Probe Zone Monitor which show the On / Off status of each Probe.

3: Probes ...Currently there are three Probes available , the Led Probe and the Video Probe and the Dallas DS18S20 Probe. The Led Probe is used were there is On / Off Status led indication on the device that requires monitoring and the Video Probe is used on devices which have a video out connection by which the On / Off Status can be monitored...
